Strawberry Spec-R

Description

"In Japan, the S15 generation of the [Nissan] Silvia is colloquially known as the "Strawberry". The term is common, as most car enthusiasts in Japan refer to a car by its chassis name. In Japanese, the numbers one, and five (from the name S15), are respectively "ichi", and "go". The word "ichigo" is also the Japanese word for Strawberry."
--Wikipedia.org

This is an S15 Nissan Silvia Spec-R equipped with the Aero package (large rear spoiler, side skirts.) They were sold only in Japan, Australia and N.Z., as they were only made in RHD.
Previous versions of the car were sold here in America under the 240SX name (or 180SX in Japan, or 200SX in Europe), though unfortunately the S15 generation was never officially sold in the US.
However, you can get LHD-converted models through tuners and the grey market, but they'll be way more expensive than the car's actually worth. Not to mention they won't be road legal here in the States until 2024 at the earliest. They're already road legal in Canada though! Maybe I should look into a summer home in Whistler.

I did this pic based off of a screenshot I took in Gran Turismo 4's Photo Mode. It's set in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Being that this wasn't an actual real-life photograph, the background of the picture was rather challenging, as the background in the reference screenie was nothing but grainy photographs on flat 3D polygons (You'll see if you look closely enough at the screenshot). The stores and stuff in the backgroud was the hardest part; you can kinda tell I stopped trying.
No, I have absolutely no idea what all the Japanese words say. I probably got half the charachters wrong. However, I did do actual research on the license plate to see what it would say (there's no registration office in Shibuya, the closest one is in Shinagawa).
If anybody who lives in Japan (or speaks Japanese) wants to point out if I messed up on the charachters (which I know I did on a quite a few, and some I couldn't read or make out at all), please feel free to do so.

And even though this was tough, I am an artistic masochist, because now I wanna do a rear view as well in this same area. The wheels will be a little easier though, because now it has black NISMO wheels.

Done in Prismacolor pencils, markers and with a little shading help from a regular mechanical pencil and one bloody stinkin' reference pic from a video game!
No full-size download this time because apparently dA won't let you watermark the pic and let you show a full-size download. WTF?!
Anyway, if you wanna see it fullsize for all the detail, just note me. Though I think 1600px across should be plenty.

Like It? Buy the Print!!! The watermark magically disappears if you do!

Wow very nice! as a matter a fact im doing the same thing from the photo mode of gt6 you should defiantly watch me and check it out. It looks extremely well done especially with the colors. Also with the screen shot your very limited with the ps2 lighting and graphics. so what you came up with makes it really shine. its very hard to say what can be done better since the details are crazy. if i had to say i would make the background shadows a little darker or blurry to make the car focus and pop out. and maybe the inter color grill slightly darker. but those suggestions seem opinionated. again great job i know how much of a pain it is to use prisma color pencils i am sure you at least went through a whole black pencil with this one. i also noticed how you added different gt images in the background they look neat. Great job on the drawing
