I don't know which I like better. A viper would be a car to take out for a nice drive or to set best lap times. A Corvette would be a car to race or reach real high speeds on the flats. But that's just me.
I actually think that Corvette could do better at the track as it's more balanced a sportscar, and the Viper, as more of a torque monster is great for drifting, dragging and general hoonage. Granted it's no shrinking Violet on the track, but the ZR1 now has the second best Nurburgring lap time behind the Porsche GT2 RS
well the Viper ACR beat the ZR1's first run, and then The GT2 RS beat the Viper. The ZR1's most recent run was i think just a second (give or take) off the Porsche.
Corvettes are my favorite cars. I am a certified, born-and-bred Vette nut. Ye be warned.
